Just because we don't meet doesn't mean we can't rock.

Midlake at Lee's!

musicclub reborn!

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've posted and I have a wonderful reason to do so this day.

I'm looking forward to next week's show, Midlake at Lee's palace. If you haven't had a listen to them yet, check out their myspace page. Another discovery is St. Vincent. I just found out that she's opening for Midlake so I went and checked out her myspace page and she's awesome. Jenstar, I'm sure you'll enjoy her.

So, we need to set up a date for Zaireeka. I think March will work out for everyone and we should probably do it on a Friday. What do you guys think?

K-hope everyone has a fabulous and musical week!

And stay out of sight for a long time."

It's been a long time coming

So, it's been awhile since we last spoke. I feel neglected, cheated and rather ignored. I'm hurt and angry. There's nothing else for me to do except...

Write about another blog that's totally awesome! I've been listening to CIUT lately cuz there's so much crap out there. Anyway, it's a great station to listen to. Sound Basement does play alot of electronic music BUT it's indie which means it's grand.

I've also been listening to Asobi Seksu from Brooklyn. If you like My Bloody Valentine and other shoegazing bands, you would like this one. They're playing at the Horseshoe on the Sept 20. If I can get a babysitter that night, Matt and I will be there!

As for the opera last night, I don't know if it's because I've been cut off from the COC for so long, but I really didn't feel for it. I did enjoy the first half, when the Rhinemaiden's were playing with Albriech. The water scene was tastefully done, but the part when Loge and Wotan were whisked away by the air, and all those guys were running around, twirling and whirling away, I didn't care for it.

Opps, baby is awake. My time is up. You are forgiven. I'm not hurt anymore.

Music Club March 10th, Pass it on!

Dudes-we're back! Music Club is still a rockin'. So, bring your bad asses to my house and we'll have a rockin' good time.

48 Darrell Ave
(Woodbine and Gerrard)

Take the subway to Woodbine station. From there, you can either walk south on Woodbine or take the southbound bus (I think it's 96 but there's only 2 buses, one north, the other south) and get off at Gerrard. on the Northeast side of Woodbine/Gerrard there's a set of stairs. Take those up to Darrell Ave. My house is on the North side. Look for the fake dog on the front porch.

Party on Wayne.

Yay, Burlington!

Dudes, Burlington has everything you've ever wanted in a town. I predict that by the end of the evening you'll have decided to sell your East-End houses and join me in paradise.

I so admire you guys for going to concerts. I never, ever, ever do that. Like, I think the last concert I saw was Liz Phair at the Opera House in the late '90s. Movies I can do. Opera, I must. I've even attended a screening of Buffy at U of T (special guest writer-producer David Fury), but I have no real enthusiasm for concerts.

I think it's because I'm lazy and cheap. But you all knew that already.

The Frames in Oct

Hey Hey,
I've heard Burlington in November is beautiful, count me in!
I wanted to add the Frames on Oct 20th at The Pheonix to the upcoming shows list. $15 per ticket and you also get the brilliant Josh Ritter in support. The Frames "Set List" is quite probably the best live album I have ever heard, these guys know how to work a crowd.
Also Paul Weller at the Kool Haus on Sept. 22nd, Tim, Fran and I are going. Tixs are $40 but it is the Modfather, apparantley there is some other show on that night at The Hummingbird but I know where I'd rather be.
Who you calling a Ho?

What up Bitches!

So...we haven't determined a date for music club yet, but it looks like it will have to be after the COC run. Are you guys ok with November? I say we have it at Jen's pad, since we haven't see her place yet! ;)

Ok-just found out that Quintron is coming to the Silver Dollar. $10.50! That's a deal! So, if you guys are interested, let me know. A few other of my favs are coming this month and next...

Royksopp Sept 20 Opera House (Upbeat, electronic music, gay boys)
Hot Chip Sept 23 Horseshoe (Again, Upbeat, electronic, but stright boys)
Architecture in Helsinki Oct 1 Rancho Relaxo (kind of like Belle and Sebastian)
Death Cab for Cutie Oct 15 Koolhaus (Yippee! This concert is sold out)
TV on the Radio Oct 18 Ricoh (With Franz Ferdinand. Should be a good show)
Quintron Nov 5 Silver Dollar (only $10.50!)
Broadcast Nov 6 Lee's (Love this band. So dreamy)
Depeche Mode Dec 1 Air Canada Centre (I'm really considering on going! Although, I'll be so pregnant by then!)

Ya-busy few months. I probably won't see all these bands, but if I wasn't pregnant and hated crowds, I'd be there for every single one! oh well.

Dudes--I'm out, but keep this blog going.
