For the record
Howdy All,
I really enjoyed Friday's meeting. A good mix of people and music.
I like the idea of creating a compilation disc of all the songs played but I think it might be a bit labour intensive. Somebody would have to get hold of all the tunes and burn them which might be tough. If we did want to do it, maybe we should all choose only one tune we played so it would be a smaller task.
If the disc doesn't work out it might be useful to at least compile a list of the tracks that were played.
For my part I played:
Josh Rouse "Sad Eyes" from Nashville
Great Lake Swimmers "I could be nothing" from Bodies and Minds
The Weakerthans "Plea from a cat called Virtute" from Reconstruction Site

I totally went out and bought the Great Lake Swimmers CD yesterday. What a fantastic find. And cheap, too! $15.
I don't mind doing the work on making a compilation CD, but it would be up to everyone to get me their tracks in an electronic form. I wouldn't want to have to rip 20 CDs to make the disc.
Let's see... I played:
"Morning Song" by Zero 7, from When It Falls
"He Lied About Death" by Stars from Set Yourself on Fire
"Look Up" by Stars, from Heart
"Burn the Witch" by Queens of the Stone Age, from Lullabies to Paralyse
Hey,
Glad to hear you bought the CD. As you know I am totally in love with it. I actually burned you a copy so if anybody else would like a copy, let me know as I now have a spare.
My big find from the meeting was the 4 Dinosaur Jr albums I borrowed from Mike. A band I have been looking to get into.
The zero 7 was lovely to.
Want me to make you a copy, or are you just being nice? :)
A copy would be great, I was being more than nice.
Okey doke!
GLS are playing in Toronto and Hamilton at the end of the month. May 27th at Rancho Relaxo in TO, and May 29th at Staircase Theatre in Hamilton. I think I may check them out. Small venue; should be lovely.
OK-I'm there. What day are they playing at Rancho Relaxo?
What I played;
Miniture breakdown - Quintron
Mr. Pussy - The Lights
Deceptacon - Let Tigre (LCD Remix)
Jen, I'll burn some MP3's for you - Blonde Redhead, Snow Patrol..hum..anything else?
Nope, I think that's it. I'll get Stars and Zero 7 ready for you tomorrow.
